Happy Holiday Season
On behalf of the WMC 2023 Organising Committee, I would like to thank and acknowledge all of you who have engaged with the 26th World Mining Congress over the past year. To our plenary and keynote speakers, abstract submitters, sponsors and exhibitors, we appreciate your commitment and support. The enthusiastic response from our global mining community has met all expectations and we are excited that our goal to create a content-rich program is coming to fruition.
I am pleased to announce three incredible newly confirmed Plenary Speakers, who will present at WMC 2023: Rohitesh Dhawan, President and Chief Executive Officer, ICMM; Andrew Forrest AO, Chairman and Founder, Fortescue Future Industries; and Ailie MacAdam, Global President, Bechtel Mining and Metals.
It is certainly an exciting period in the lead-up to WMC 2023 with major mining companies, OEM’s and METS, and several governments confirmed on the 15,000 square metre exhibition floor. The exhibition will be the hive of activity during the Congress.
Alongside the Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Science and Resources as Major Sponsor, and Queensland Government as Host State Partner, organisations already featured in the exhibition include our Diamond Sponsors, Anglo American, BHP, Glencore, Rio Tinto and The University of Queensland.
The exhibition floor plan officially opened for sales this month and we expect a further 200 companies to be showcasing their services and products at WMC 2023.
Six new Gold level sponsors have joined WMC 2023, since our last communication, they are, Allkem, CR Mining, Enaex, Liebherr, Magotteaux and Phibion. You will be able to meet with all of them in the WMC 2023.
We recently updated information on our website to help you travel to Brisbane easily and efficiently for what is shaping up to be an incredible global mining event next June.
We recognise it is a busy time of year for everyone. For those who celebrate this traditional time of year, we wish you all a very happy season. For our most northern colleagues and friends, we send you our warmest wishes as you head into winter. I look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane next year for the 26th World Mining Congress.
Season’s Greetings,
Dr Hua Guo
